Cycles, and then some.

Onto the great staples of animation - cycles. Walk cycles and run cycles. Gonna have to use them forever, so might as well get a good head start learning these bad boys.

Walk cycle - voila!

Oh, and I can't forget the run cycle - that's where all the fun is.

And before I forget - I kinda like how these came out, so i'll share em with the world. And I present to you, world, MUSCLES of the torso. Ooooh. Ahhhh.

Take it to market

So, we did our first pan. Market pan for layout class. I decided to do mine in a very Arabian setting. It was a lot of fun to do, and a good experience for my first pan. Hands of thieves, sleeping camel, it's got it all.

Catching up.

So, I guess here's my unload of (most) of my creativity and slight artistic inclination for the past (since last post). Actually did a 10 year old's birthday party today. Me and Reuben drew like 7 or 8 kids' caricatures. Good experience. Free hot dog and ice cream cake, too. Paid us $100 towards our class trip too. Thank you, Ida.

I drew four kids while I was there - only remembered to take pictures of three of them First, we have James

Then we have George. Yes, he was actually picking his nose with his tongue.

And finally, Shane

Next are some drawing jams that I forgot to scan and submit. Oh well, here they are.

Lucy Lawless in the style of Lauren Faust

Also, Steve Urkel... Not really in a style or anything... Just... Urkel.

Next come some random sketchbook pieces that were done. First was a dude - took a general shape, and worked from there to create a character.

This post is simply an improvement made on a picture that I posted a while ago. Shocking what just a thick outline, and some colour theory can pull off. Great Scott!

Lastly - er, I think lastly - we have two caricatures I did. Reuben paid for his caricature; I decided to do two. He wanted those caricatures to be done while we were out drinking on Friday. Here, we have the Results

After 8 beer...

Wait, wait, wait! I must be crazy - of course there's one more! I was just playing around, and did a caricature of Chapel Ruin, from the band The Satans. Check it out.

3D'n

So, I'm relatively new to 3D. So far, I'm really enjoying it though. In the past I've only done very little applying of texture maps and all that fun business. 3D class rolls around, and we're introduced to Mudbox. Instant fun to be had. So I've whipped up a few things in Mudbox. I have jpgs of the Skull and Lizard dude, so that's what I'm gonna show. March break starts tomorrow, so I'll be posting a lot more real soon. Scanners, you will be mine!

There's a weird tear in the middle of the skull. Not sure why it got rendered that way, but whatever.

Cheers!
